This work is good XIII

“Garden of Eden”, 2007 by Wolle shows eight pedestals, each of which is covered with an airtight Plexiglas box. Via the internet, the latest air pollution levels in the capitals of the G8-countries are obtained. The system reproduces these levels artificially inside these boxes, each of which contains a lettuce that serves an indicator of the quality of the air inside the capsules. I'm not really sure who or what Wolle are, but I really like this piece. It reminds me of "6183cc Paris Air" by Limoncello artist Matthew Harrison. He cycled the 600 hundred mile round trip from Limoncello Gallery (London) to the Eiffel Tower (Paris). He let down his front tyre and inflated it with Paris air then cycled home and handed over the wheel.
