Thirty-somethings Burt and Verona are a sweet devoted couple, whom we find out at the beginning of the film are about to have their first child. Having moved to live closer to Burt's family, they announce the happy news only to be told the family are moving to Antwerpen, for two years. Unhappy with their lives they embark on a trip around the US & Canada to find somewhere else to live, they travel to Phoenix, Tucson, Madison, Montreal and Miami where friends or relatives are living. They experience different families, living situations and relationships and begin to realise what they want to achieve and how they want to do it.
It's pretty sweet, and definately appeals to the thirty-something new family crowd, I must've seen about 5 pregnant ladies in the audience when I saw the film. Bert (John Krasinski) is fantastic (he even looks a bit like AF) funny and I'm sure everyone watching the film fell for his 'trying to be angry to get the baby's heart-rate up' routines. It's got a nice soundtrack by Alexi Murdoch who is set to be an indie film favourite, and completes the sense of reflection and contemplation in the film. It's sad at parts, it's really silly in parts and despite not being as huge a smash as the aforementioned films, for a certain crowd, I think it's much better.
