The work on the left (currently showing at the Hayward Gallery-The Russian Linesman) by Fred Sandback reminds me of the work (on the right) by Latifa Echakhch. Both manage to entice the viewer in and to consider not only the space the work inhabits, but the space where it doesn't inhabit (and why not-and how it makes a difference).
