Man in his basement with model railroad, Newton, MA, 2001I think Sage Sohier has done what lots of us have aspired to do (or at least been interested in) throughout our art education. The photographs in her Perfectible Worlds series portray singular people amid voluminous collections, absorbed into odd hobbies, heavily draped in adornments or achievements. Her subjects carve out their own utopias which they can exert control over. I am in awe of them. See the rest of the series here.
