Crentin Quisp - six double header donjeros
The recent show at Utrophia Ltd, Deptford is a room installation of Crentin Quisp's black line paintings. Simple drawings of strange shapes and familiar objects they draw you in from the entrance surrounded by them. Gently swirling mobiles with coloured in drawings and odd scraps of material add a structural element to the busy (but suprisingly calming) show. The walls are full with the illustrations, some scribble-coloured in, others not. Giant paper pieces with similar images drawn in a thinner pen line the walls.
Sound is pumped through the room from 6 speakers heaped on a stand in the middle of the room. An interactive synth creates strange alien type noises and beats which you as the viewer can change at will.
